Written submissions should generally follow the Guidelines on Preparing Notices of Appeal and Written Submissions.

A claimant may provide a submission for a hearing in addition to the notice of appeal. If the claimant chooses to do so, the additional submission (including supporting material) shall be received by the Board, by electronic means or otherwise, at least 21 days before the hearing date.

The Board may direct a claimant to provide an additional submission if it deems necessary.

The Board will forward a copy of the claimant’s submission (including supporting material) to the respondent.

A respondent may provide a written submission in response to the notice of appeal. If the respondent chooses to do so, the responding submission (including supporting material) shall be received by the Board, by electronic means or otherwise, at least 14 days before the hearing date.

The Board will forward a copy of the responding submission (including supporting material) to the claimant.

The claimant may file a written submission/reply in response to the respondent’s submission. If the claimant chooses to do so, the reply submission shall be received by the Board, by electronic means or otherwise, at least 5 days before the hearing date.  

The Board will forward a copy of the reply submission (including supporting material) to the respondent.
